Darts checkout chart
Every three-dart finish from 170 down to 2, double out — and then what changes on straight out and master out and the whole chart again for bull out. Printable, and taken straight out of the scoreboard that calls them out at the board — so what is on this page is what the app would tell you to throw.
How to read it
T20 is treble twenty, D16 is double sixteen, Bull is the 50. Throw them left to right; the last dart is the double you go out on. Where two routes score the same, this is the one that leaves the friendlier double.

Bogey numbers
Seven scores at or under 170 have no three-dart finish at all: 169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162 and 159. On those — and on anything over 170 — you are not going out this visit, so throw to leave a double you like: score 140 from 180 to sit on 40, or take a single 20 off 168 to leave 148.
Straight out and master out
Not every league finishes on a double. In straight out any dart wins the leg; in master out a double or a treble does. Both are games this board scores, and neither has a chart anywhere near as easy to find as the one above.
Start from the good news: every route in the chart above still wins the leg in both of them, because every one of them ends on a double, and a double is a legal finish whichever way out you are playing. So nothing above is wrong for a straight-out player — it is just, sometimes, one dart longer than it needs to be. What follows is only what changes.
The eight the double-out chart has no row for
Four of them are bogey numbers on double out — 168, 165, 162 and 159 — and four are above the double-out ceiling of 170. Let a treble finish and all eight go out in three darts, 180 included.

Where a dart is saved
These are the scores that finish quicker than the chart above, and they are the whole of the difference. Everything not listed here is thrown exactly as it is thrown on double out.

Bogey numbers, straight and master out
The classic seven do not apply: 159, 162, 165 and 168 all finish on a treble. What is left unfinishable is the same either way out and is not really a darts fact at all — it is the list of totals three darts cannot make: 179, 178, 176, 175, 173, 172, 169, 166 and 163.
Bull out and bull-25 out
Some houses finish on the bull and nothing else. In bull out the dart that takes you to zero has to be the 50; in bull-25 out the outer ring finishes too. This board scores both — and unlike straight out and master out above, nothing in the chart at the top of this page applies, because every route on it ends on a double and a double does not win a leg here.
Three things change, and all three catch people out. The ceiling is the same 170 thrown the same way, T20 T20 Bull. The floor is not: a visit that leaves you under 50 busts on bull out, and under 25 on bull-25, so 30 left is not a leave at all — it is a lost visit, and the score you want to sit on is 50 rather than 32. And every finish is a setup plus the bull, so what matters here is leaving the 50 — the doubles you have practised do nothing.
Every bull-out finish, 170 to 50
112 of the 121 scores from 170 down to 50 go out in three darts ending in the 50. The last dart is always Bull, so read the row as the setup you need first.

What the outer ring adds
On bull-25 the 50 still finishes, so every route above still wins the leg. What the outer ring buys is the bottom of the board — 25 to 49, which bull out cannot finish at all — and three scores it takes out a dart quicker.

Bogey numbers, bull out
Nine scores in range have no three-dart finish on the bull, and they are the classic seven with two more: 169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162, 159, 156 and 153. 156 and 153 are the two nobody expects — both are ordinary double-out finishes (T20 T20 D18 and T20 T19 D18), and neither leaves the 50 from anything three darts can throw. The list is the same on bull-25.
Where this comes from
Friendly Fire Casper is a free darts scoreboard for the tablet next to the board: it keeps the score, suggests the way out, plays a CPU opponent, runs the tournament and remembers every leg. No account, no app store, and it works offline. Open the scoreboard.
